The Filipino Music Awards celebrated enduring contributions to Philippine music through its Legacy Awards.
The Filipino Music Awards 2025 looked beyond the music of the present to recognize the artists and institutions whose contributions have helped shape generations of Filipino music.
Through its Legacy Awards, FMA 2025 honored Pilita Corrales, Jose Mari Chan, and Ang Misyon, Inc. — representing artistic legacy, lifetime achievement, and the continuing development of future Filipino musicians.
The Tribute Award was presented to Pilita Corrales, celebrating the extraordinary career and enduring influence of one of Philippine music’s most celebrated performers.
Her grandchildren, Diego and Janine Gutierrez, accepted the recognition on her behalf.
Jose Mari Chan received the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing a career and body of work that have become deeply embedded in Philippine popular culture. Across generations, his music has remained part of the Filipino listening experience, giving his songs an enduring place in the country’s musical history.
The Filipino Music Awards also recognized Ang Misyon, Inc. as Music Foundation of the Year.
Through the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth, Ang Misyon has helped provide music education, orchestral training, and opportunities to young Filipino musicians, contributing to the development of the next generation of musical talent.
