About Us

The Filipino Music Awards (FMAs) is a landmark celebration of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). Taking place on October 21, 2025, 6 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the inaugural FMAs will unite over 500 musicians and industry leaders, and gather thousands of Filipino music fans for an evening celebrating the artists, record labels, and creative projects that define the OPM movement.

The FMAs will recognize 18 prestigious awardees across four distinguished categories, each with a unique evaluation process that reflects the FMAs’ mission to honor the best of Filipino music in all its facets:

  • Genre Awards: Honoring the songs that redefine genres and drive musical innovation.

    • Folk Song of the Year
    • Hip-Hop Song of the Year
    • Pop Song of the Year
    • R&B Song of the Year
    • Rock Song of the Year

Genre Awardees are determined by the official FMA jury, which is composed of OPM icons and industry veterans, ensuring artistic credibility and expert recognition.

  • People’s Choice Awards: Recognizing the artists and songs shaping today’s culture and setting tomorrow’s trends.

People’s Choice Awardees are determined entirely through nationwide public voting, giving audiences a direct voice in the celebration. The awards in this category are the only distinctions decided through fan voting. All other awards are judged by the official FMA jury, with the Grand Awards being determined by a combination of jury deliberation and metric success.
